COLLEGE OF THE OPEN BIBLE
We must continuously battle against our own individual temperament and fleshly inclinations so that we are not an advantage for the wiles of the devil. The advantage we have as Christians is the perpetual convicting work of the Holy Spirit in whom there is a zero tolerance for self-exaltation.
Be careful to avoid the seduction for a miraculous or spectacular moment of change. It is not the change of circumstances that breeds obedience or an escape from sinfulness, it is the prompting of the indwelling Holy Spirit. The Bible is the only means necessary for a meaningful life. Your life must not be defined by your spiritual activities, but rather, scriptural authority.
Thus, the only means of deliverance from sinfulness is the indwelling Word of God by the Spirit of God (Joshua 1:8; Ephesians 5:18). There is only one position in which we are right with God, and that is in Christ Jesus. He came to this world to destroy the work of Satan and the power of sin. Sin is a matter of reality that breeds the lie that we are sufficient in ourselves. It is the very fact of sin that explains why Christ came to this world; and sin is the explicit cause of all sorrow and death.
"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." (1 John 2:1)

Christians Walking In Darkness
Christians will find sin of whatever sort to be seductive when they choose to invest in their personal preferences (Genesis 3:6). When we invest in ourselves; the greater our indebtedness to a preoccupation with selfish inclinations. (Matthew 16:26). The result is a lack of meaningful effort to bring glory to God and a diminished testimony that is covered in a shallow grave of pretension. Our greatest undoing is doing for ourselves (James 4:2).
Our coming short of God's glory is often due to pride and stubbornness versus the influence and arrows of Satan. Satan can only tempt us to justify why we should sin... he has no power to make us sin (1 John 4:4). The enemy that Satan is... is not our chief problem... it is the enmity of our hearts, thus... yielding to sinfulness is always intentional and leaves the believer with a pounding burden of regret.
The majority of Christians today are far more inclined to their ideas and good intentions which they have exalted to the place of Scripture. This is why tolerance of ideology over theology amongst many believers is the norm and even considered spiritual... yet, it is the most rooted form of sinfulness in the Church.
